Limassol or Lemesos (Greek: Λεμεσός, Lemesós; Turkish: Limasol or Leymosun) is the second-largest city in Cyprus, with a population of 228.000 (2008). It is the largest city in geographical size, and the biggest municipality on the island. The city is located on Akrotiri Bay, on the island's southern coast and it is the capital of Limassol District.

Limassol is the biggest port in the Mediterranean transit trade. It has also become one of the most important tourism, trade and service-providing centres in the area. Limassol is renowned for its long cultural tradition, and is home to the Cyprus University of Technology.

Tsada Golf Club is very popular, for golfers staying in Limassol you will need to reach Paphos and then proceed north to reach the Tsada club, the second golf course is the Secret Valley Golf Club that is located very close to "Petra tou Romiou", this golf course is situated 18 km east of Paphos. Golfers from Lemesos need to travel 49 km to reach this golf course, both the golf clubs are 18 hole courses.

Skiing
If you like to Ski and are planning to visit Limassol between January and March then you can ski at Mount Olympus which is near Limassol and is normally covered with thick snow at this time of the year, the slopes are easily accessible and the terrain is just right for skiing. It is situated 4 km east of the town center, is equipped with changing rooms, restaurants and sea sport facilities.
-Governors Beach
It is situated 20 km east of Limassol, has a combination of dazing white cliffs and dark gray sand. Restaurants and other facilities are available.
-Curium (Ayios Ermogenis Beach)
At a distance of 15 km from Limassol on the way to Paphos. Restaurants and other facilities are available.
