Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus.
Situated on the River Pedieos, admnistrativ Nicosia is the center of a sector, and is currently the only divided capital in the world, the northern (Turkish) and southern (Greek) being separated by a "Green Line", a demilitarized zone maintained by the UN.
The city is a trade center and manufactures textiles, leather, ceramics, plastics and other products. Copper mines are nearby.
